Why choose heating using MINIB convectors?
What is a convector?
A convector is a heating body that transfers heat almost entirely through agitated air. Generally, it consists of:
- a trough or a casing
- an exchanger (that transfers the heat to the agitated air)
- in some cases of a fan
Cold air drawn from a room flows through a heated exchanger, warms up and either rises naturally or is force blown by a fan back to the space – a principle of heat transfer called convection. The heat released by the entire length of the convector creates an invisible thermal barrier that divides the interior space from the cold surface area of a window.
Why the MINIB convector?
Quality
- 10 years of experience with the development and production of convectors
- no corrosion problems
- standard use of stainless-steel sheet
Energy saving and heating/after-cooling dynamics
- we use top energy saving DC 12V fan motors – average consumption only 7W per 1 linear meter of the convector
- low water volume – approx. 0.5 l is required per linear meter of the convector - thanks to the low water volume, the interior heating or after-cooling response time is very fast.
Wide product range
- we offer warm-water heating bodies suitable for floor heating, wall heating, window-sill heating, as well as free-standing heating units
- but also floor-mounted electric convection heaters
Space saver
- does not disturb the appearance of the interior, supports modern design
- Construction height - available from 50 mm, COIL T50
- Construction width – available from 106 mm, COIL KT0
Flexibility
- Possibility of manufacturing units with atypical dimensions, arch convectors and angle joining of troughs, all as per consultation
Uniqueness of the products
- Manufacture of convectors for special applications, such as the window-sill type, skirting type, electric heating type, PTG type and others.
User friendly
- Regulation of the fan motors is simpler and therefore more user friendly as a result of negligible energy consumption
Reputability
- The heating performances were measured in an approved (accredited) testing chamber in accordance with EN 442-2
Safety
- With the exception of the TE electric convection heater, all convectors run on a safe voltage level of 12 V
Frequently asked questions
When is it suitable to use MINIB convectors?
MINIB warm-water convectors are intended especially for installation under larger glazed window surfaces, under terrace doors, in conservatories and in swimming pool areas. While the heating bodies are manufactured in many standard lengths, it is also possible to supply custom-made lengths. MINIB convectors are suitable for use in all types of interior as the only heating source or as a supplementary source of heating in your home and can provide a modern and reliable office space heating solution.
Where should we avoid installing convectors?
Convectors should not be installed where low temperature (up to 50°C) heating systems are used.
What is it necessary to know before choosing a convector?
- the floor composition (the floor composition determines the construction height of the convector)
- the room’s heating losses (room heating losses determine selection of the right type of convector)
- the thermostat and transformer installation position, in cases where these components are part of the el. regulation (convectors fitted with fans)
- the final floor covering type and its colour (for selection of grilles and decorative frames)
How to proceed when choosing a convector?
- Contact your regional sales representative, or the MINIB s.r.o. (Ltd) Co. sales department
- Contact the building designer to establish the floor composition (required for selection of the correct construction height of the convector)
- Contact the heating system designer to find out the heat losses of the heated rooms (required for selection of the correct type of convector)
Whenever you are unsure of anything relating to convector heating, contact our sales department, where the staff will be ready and pleased to provide you with the right advice!

For which environment are MINIB products suitable?
MINIB products can be used in a dry or wet environment (swimming pool areas or bathrooms). However, a selected product line, fitted with a water drainage system is intended for use in wet environments.
What are regulating options for MINIB products?
A considerable amount of knowledge has been collected over the past few years relating to installation, operation, maintenance and regulation of MINIB products. This has resulted in establishment of several suitable regulating approaches, starting with a straightforward single speed “ON/OFF" switching system or a manually or automatically regulated three-speed switching system.
What is included in the price of the MINIB convector?
With the exception of regulation, the MINIB s.r.o. (Ltd) Company supplies all accessories required for installation of the convectors included in the price of the delivery.
How do the new type SK PTG convectors function?
Convectors fitted with fans are provided with thermoelectric couples – PTG which are the source of the electrical energy required to feed the electric motors of the fans, whereby the electrical energy is obtained from the warm water supplied to the heat exchanger. Therefore, a convector with PTG is capable of serving as a more suitable substitute for an existing convector without a fan in instances where a higher heating performance is required and where provision of power supply cabling poses a problem.
